Rudimentary Transportation

You don't think about your feet as much as you should most of the time. Take one out of commission, and you have an entirely new perspective on the importance of having both feet available for transporting yourself across a room or up and down a flight of stairs. Another note you too might recognize is that armpits are not meant to play a major role in getting from here to there. They don't like it.

Crutches, I think, were invented by the purveyors of the Spanish Inquisition. Horrible, horrible things. Having a break or a sprain is never fun. I think I would prefer a break in my foot or leg than in my ribs. Broken ribs are the worst.

Hobble around in a pair of crutches long enough, and it might start to feel like your ribs are separating from your shoulders. Take care on the river!

My grandpa just had his lower leg removed this summer. Using a wheel chair and walker, he's ready to get his prosthesis this week and get back to his daily walks! He comments often about how you never realize how important both legs are until you only have one! He can commiserate with you. :)
Heal up!

Your grandpa sounds like he's a tough guy, moving on, one step at a time. Thanks for the good wishes and give him mine!

We are thinking about you! Take care of yourself, and let the roof be for a little while...
Let us know what we can do to help when we get back! :)

Thanks! I'm taking care of my foot and trying to get better. I might have roofing fairies tomorrow.
